Winning (and losing) all part of the game.
Why is it always about winning? There are times when you loose and that's where you start thinking about the things went wrong. This makes you prepare better for anything upcoming.
Last Sunday wasn't a great day for ACC 3. It was extremely hot and no wind.
Unlike usual, ACC won the toss and decided to bat first against United 2.
The start wasn't the best and openers didn't stay for long. New kid on the block, Lakshman together with our senior Inder bhai, had a decent partnership.
But once their partnership broke, wickets were falling at regular intervals. It seemed like we were heading towards probably hard to defend score of 130.
Inder bhai did manage to get his important and well deserved half century.
Farhan also tried to fight hard but it didn't go that far and we got all-out for 182 in the 36th over.
The runouts and not batting the last 4 overs, made us 40-45 runs short of the initial target we thought of.
After the nicely (as usual) prepared lunch we got in the final innings with a positive mindset.
We made early progress by picking up a couple of wickets. Unfortunate, that we couldn't keep the pressure on them and the match gradually got out of our hands. By the 20th over, they were already halfway there with still 8 wickets in hand.
The opponents finished it up in 30th over with plenty of wickets in hand.
Regarding the championship, it's not over yet. Our rivals and we have 4 matches left to play, and I'm sure that we will come back with the top-notch performance ACC 3 is known for.
Rock on Guys!!!
Summary:
ACC 3 - 182/10
Inder Bhai: 59
