Match report ACC 3 - Dosti 3
Was not a very good day to play cricket. It was raining in the morning. The outfield was wet. Was not a good choice to bat first as the weather was going to dry up later on with sun. We were missing two good bats Lakshman and Inder Bhai. This was already a bad start but we did not have a bad team to start with. Our captian Abid lost the toss but Dosti 3 captain decided to bat first which was in our favour.
Abid bowled a very good first spell. And got one of their openers out very early caught at gully by Noor; excellent catch. Zee was unlucky not getting any wicket in his first spell. In the last over he was very unlucky on a yorker length ball which batsman totally missed and then again beaten over the stumps.
It happens.
Dosti score was below average (under 30) at the end of first 9 overs. Noor came into attack and he bowled well and got one wicket in his very first over. From the other end Imran was brought into attack and despite his chest injury got 3 of their main batsman out in his 4 overs.
That did put Dosti in a struggling position.
Good bowling change with Saqib (2 vital wickets) and Abid again (1 more wicket) got Dosti on 105 for 8.
Now things started to turn the other way, Dosti's way.
Their number 8 and number 10 batsman, who just played a few 20/20's, put up a partnership of over 80 runs and their innings finished at 192/10 on the score board.
On the 2nd pitch, targets of 200+ are common if the toporder is complete: we were missing two genuine batsmen. It would only have gotton difficult if the openers didn't stay in. That's was happened, JW got out for not many. Saqib, who got promoted at no.3, with Paul gave ACC a decent ground but then Paul was caught behind on a beautiful ball just swinging very late. In between their openingsbowler, who chucked/watta big time, got in an argue with the umpire (Abid) when he was warned about this. The bowler disagreed while his captain agreed about the chucking. The starting runs came from his no-balls, their captain then wisely took him off.
Noor came in and while steadying the ship, Saqib got out given LBW.
Score was 63/3, which was not that bad. The always positive Ganesh was the 5th man in and he was bowled on his first facing ball.
Abid came in and with Noor they managed to stay on the crease and added runs. It was bound to happen, Noor got bowled by a peach of a ball.
Now it was Abid who got caught on the spinners bowling, a mistimed shot cost him his wicket.
We were 6/81. Khurrum and Alex tried to build up a partnership but before they could settle in Alex was caught and the score was 7/113.
The lateorder tried to get some runs but in the end the target was just a tad to high.
Score Dosti 10/192 36.3
Score ACC 10/116 in 32.4
