Judging from the two previous matches, ACC arrived at Rood and Wit with the confidence that we can put up a good score against them. This was indeed made possible by Inge Leurs scoring 96 with steady support from her team mates.
ACC won the toss and decided to bat. A determined partnership between Inge Leurs and Inge van Son assured us of a comfortable score of 59 when unfortunately Inge van Son was run out for the unlucky score ‘13’. Nairmala was also unable to break the jinks when she also went for the unlucky ‘13’- the lost of our second wicket with the score on 104. Rain interrupted the game for approximately 20 minutes. However upon resumption of play Inge kept the team on the edge of their seats as she was in sight of a century. Our hopes were shattered when she was caught for 96 by S. Kottman off the bowling of A. Tanka. ACC made a total of 180 runs for the loss of 7 wickets.
ACC began fielding with a weakened bowling squad. However as nerve-wrecking as it might have been for Rood and Wit, they made the score of 181 within the 41st over for the loss of 3 wickets (E. Cambell 43, P. te Beest 51, S. Kottman 2). H. Alblas 1-29, N. Groenewegen 1-26 and S. Melchers 1-39.
