ACC Roundup

Zaterdag 28 juni

Dosti 163 – ACC 164/3

Bravo!

Zaterdag 5/7 ACC - Hercules

Zaterdag 12/7 Bloemendaal - ACC

Zondag 13/7 ACC - VRA 2

ACC 2 284/7 (40) – Eindhoven 2 224 (39.3)

“ACC 2 Rise to the Occasion and Bring Down the Table-Toppers”

There are some matches that remind you why you love cricket—and Saturday at ACC was exactly that kind of day. A proper team effort, a centurion in the ranks, a youngster bowling with fire, and most importantly, a big win against the table-toppers Eindhoven 2.

Before the game even began, there was something to smile about. Our teammate Waqas Ahmed became a proud father last week, welcoming a baby daughter. The entire squad congratulated him warmly, and that good energy carried through the day.

Having lost the toss and being put in to bat first, there was no drama around late arrivals this week—everyone was on time, the vibe was calm, and our regular opening pair, Tahir Ahmad Bajwa and Jayant Pote, walked out confidently. Tahir unfortunately fell early, and Jovandeep Singh, fresh off a big knock last week, was in sooner than expected. It wasn't his day this time, but that’s cricket.

Then came Harry Singh, who would go on to have a day to remember. He held the innings together brilliantly, never rushed, never rattled. He built key partnerships first with Jayant (34) and then with Baljot Singh, who looked in fine touch with a well-made 54. Together, they put us in a strong position.

As the innings went on, Harry accelerated beautifully, reaching his first century for ACC in the final over. The whole team was on its feet—this was a knock full of class, patience, and timing. With support from some lower-order hitting, we posted a commanding 284 for 7 in 40 overs.

After lunch, we knew Eindhoven wouldn’t roll over. But Malyar Safi had other ideas. The youngster came in bowling serious heat, and Eindhoven struggled to get him away. He created early pressure, which led to a sharp bowled and a smart run-out—Eindhoven were suddenly 7 for 2 and on the back foot.

The rest of the bowling unit kept things tight. Everyone chipped in—disciplined lines, backed by energetic fielding. Eindhoven did have one batter who played a fantastic knock, scoring 96 and keeping things interesting, but wickets fell around him. We finally bowled them out for 224 in 39.3 overs.

A 60-run win against the team at the top of the table. A century from Harry. Fire from Malyar. Runs for Baljot and Jayant. Energy and support from everyone on the field. This one was special—not just because of the result, but because it was a proper team win. Every player played their part, and the mood in the dressing room after said it all.

Onwards and upwards, ACC 2!

Harry Singh 100 not out, Gul Nasir 3/36/7.3, Baljot Singh 54, Malyar Safi 2/26/6

VCC 2/Hermes U17 140 – ACC U17 141/8

Man of the match Rehan Muhammad leidt ACC U17 naar nipte zege

Brillant win for ACC against Rood en Wit – 7th consecutive Win!!!

What a belter of a match we had today, 29 June 2025, as ACC took on Rood en Wit in Haarlem under glorious summer skies! This U15 clash was a run-fest that kept everyone glued to the action until the final ball, with ACC edging out a hard-fought victory by 14 runs, posting *195/6* to Rood en Wit’s *181/8*. Despite Rood en Wit’s players and parents looking a bit bleary-eyed from a lively party the night before, both teams brought fire to the field. Here’s how it unfolded!

Super Sunny and hot Sunday 😊. ACC played their 7th match at Rood end Wit Team on their home ground @ Haarlem.

ACC won the toss and elected to bat.

ACC Batting

What went well

Ayaansh was the cornerstone, retiring unbeaten at a masterful *60 not out, guiding the innings with poise and precision.

Then came Rakesh, who turned the heat up with a breathtaking display—blasting **four sixes in back-to-back in 2 overs, the second soaring into the bushes, leaving the fielders searching for it! Rood en Wit’s fielding (with two pairs of brothers and sisters, from the Kelterman and Gilding family) was top-notch, with their kids diving left and right to stop balls from racing to the boundary, but ACC’s firepower proved too much.

The innings closed at a daunting **195/6 in 30 overs*, setting Rood en Wit a steep chase of 196.

What could have been better

ACC managed to score 50 runs in the first 12 overs and reached 120 by the end of 20 overs. Compared to previous matches where the team was dominant with the bat, this game was more challenging. It served as a valuable learning experience, especially playing against some top-tier opponents (all credits to the strong Rood en Wit side!).

During a challenging phase between the 18th and 22nd overs, ACC faced a setback, losing three wickets in quick succession. It was a tough moment, but also an opportunity for reflection and growth under pressure

The striking rate was lower than usual

ACC Bowling

What went well

ACC’s pace – the team had a good strategy in bowling and tried to restrict the opponent team’s running between wickets in the first 10 overs

Smashing catch from Arush and a brillant run out by Ayaansh brought the game back on track, but still the opposing team had a strong hold on the match and were close to win the match. They scored 150 runs from 24 overs.

Smashing Arrush took bowling in the 27th over and smashed 2 wickets and again on 29th over another 2 wickets (all 4 were bowled) – he turned the match completely in ACC’s favour.

A good improvement on extras ( way to go team 😊)

What could have been better

A few run outs were missed due to lack of coordination while passing the balls

Man of the Match - Shared between Ayaansh and Arrush

Thanks: To all active parent volunteers in helping, scoring, umpiring, capturing summary and cheering up our talented kids 😊

Arrush Nadakatta 4/16/5, Ayaansh Seghal 61 retired, 49 wides, Rakesh Sripatnala 36, 38 wides

Qui Vive U13 126/6 - ACC U13 141/4

A well deserved win for the U13 team!

From batting perspective, Soham has been consistently performing well as an opener and Reyaansh supported him well!

Vivaan, Khyat and Akshaya took some quick runs at the end to ensure we had a competitive total!

From bowling perspective, it was pretty good bowling by most of the bowlers with special mention for Riaan, Reyaansh, Vivaan & Soham!

Highlight of the match was the catch taken by Edgar!

Excellent fielding by entire team with special mention for Edgar, ‘Jonty’ Riaan and Reyaansh!

What was impressive was the maturity of all our bowlers..they shortened their run up at the final overs to ensure wides were not bowled(Felix, Riaan, Reyaansh and maybe few others) !

Great wicketkeeping by Oscar & Niall!

In summary, each & every team member has contributed in this win!
