Hello, my name is Adriaan Verbeek or as the most friends call me “Aad”. I’m 25 years old and currently live in Amsterdam. I recently moved to Amsterdam as I’m doing a Mergers and Acquisitions internship at a corporate finance firm in Amsterdam. I live with 3 other friends in a nice cozy house where we love fun and laughter. I’m originally from Leiden where I have been born and raised. I have lived there until I was 18 and moved to Utrecht afterwards. The last 5 years I’ve played cricket at Kampong. Before Kampong I used to play for VCC with shirt number 49. My cricket career started in Oegstgeest at Ajax where my dad used to play for, which is the reason I play cricket. My best cricket performance ever is probably being the best bowler of the European Championship U15 when playing for the Netherlands. As new member of ACC I am really looking forward to know the club better and help the club with the expected performances this year!

I am 18 years old and was born in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. People like to call me a variety of different names, often just Potdar but also some commonly used nickname that are used to call me are Shrey, or Potdar. At the moment I am in the first year of my bachelors degree and studying econometrics at the university of Amsterdam. Hopefully I will be able to complete it in the allocated 3 years. Cricket wise I am an all-rounder, top order right-handed batter and bowl right arm legspin. I initially started playing at the age of 4 with my father in the backyard and have enjoyed it ever since. I joined ACC at around the same age and since then have played most of my cricket there. My ambitions are to play at the highest level and ideally along the way contribute to victories for ACC.

I was born in Bolton, Lancashire in the North West ofEngland. All my friends at school played cricket and I’d always played football and tennis but eventually got convinced to play some matches for my school when I was 11. From that point on I played cricket for many years for Tonge CC in Bolton captaining junior teams and playing in the men’s first team from around 15/16 years old. Then I went to Loughborough University where I studied International Business and also played cricket. There I probably had my best performance scoring 130* off not very many balls in my first game, building false hope I could do that in every game. I've been in the Netherlands now for 5 years, currently working at New Balance as a Global Digital Marketplace Strategist and living with my girlfriend in Rivierenbuurt. After taking an extended 5 year break from cricket I now want to just have fun and score some runs.

Most people call me Hannema or Hannie. Or when playing in the seconds its Skip. I was born in Amsterdam about 33 years ago. Currently working as General Manager at a chauffeur company in Amstelveen. I am living in the beautiful heart of Amsterdam, in the Jordaan. I started playing cricket through my grandfather, who was in love with the game. My ambition for the highest level is long gone. I can get a long on many levels, and am happy I can support our first eleven in these crazy times. I’m wearing number 9 on my cricketshirt. Why I play for ACC, that’s an easy questions. Simply because I have been brought up at this club. My personal best performance and actually most exciting… Was my winning 100* with a 6 on the last ball against Qui Vive.

Aryan Kumar A.K.A: Pandya A.K.A: Ary. I am born on 30th march 2002 and born and raised in Amsterdam. My dad has a small supermarket almost for 12 years, so since my younger years I have always been involved in the whole process, so I see myself as the Co-owner of the shop. If I am not playing cricket and not studying you can find me in the shop. At the moment I am studying Engineering at the HVA in Amsterdam-amstel. I live together with my parents and my sister who also plays cricket, she is 20 years old. My shirt number is number 1. I was just casually watching the world cup 2011 where india played Australia in the semi-finals, and Yufraj Singh played an incredible innings. This innings made me love the sport and since then I never looked back. Not a real ambition but just going with the flow, and see where I end up… This is my 5th year at ACC, before I played at the rivals VRA. I wanted to become the best version of cricket career and ACC is the club that is providing me that. Coming back of a horrible ankle injury and scoring a 54 against Punjab Cricket Club. Or taking a 4 wicket haul on my debut for ACC against VRA(my former club).

Nickname -Pepper spray, Ben Cooper, Messi, Baby giraffe, and much more      Place of birth and date: I was born in Amsterdam on the 3rd of november 2003.     Work situation/School situation: I work for STRK lifestyle gym as a sidejob and I also work as a freelancer for various companies. I attend school in Laren at Laar&Berg. I am currently in my VWO 6 which is my final year of high school. My final exams will take place in may 2022.       Living situation: I live in Naarden with my two sisters, Pomme en Roos. And my parents Eva and John.      Shirtnumber: Last year the number 8 was on my back. I am not one of those people that need the same shirt number every year or want a specific number so that is why it changes every season. However, I would love to steal Chris Knoll´s number seven next year.      How did you start playing cricket? With my grandparents and my parents all having played the game, I kind of didn´t have a choice. I started playing tip & run when I was four years old, played my first game when I was seven, and I made my first team debut at 15. A day that I will never forget. I want to represent my country at a world cup one day and help my country make a name for itself in the world. Also, a lot of people say county cricket is a bit of a stretch. Honestly I don´t care about that. I also want to make it in England, or at least try.      Best cricket performance: For ACC, this was my third game for the first team when I took 4-39 after 10, including 2 wickets on the first two balls of the game. We won that match by 10 wickets and I was very happy to make my contribution to that win.      Anything to add? Really looking forward to the new season with a lot of new people in the team. I hope we can get back to the times where a lot of people came to watch the games. These profiles should really help with doing that. The team looks good and everybody is working hard.

I work as an Online Marketer in Heemstede and I live in Amsterdamm. I’ve been playing for ACC since 2020, before that time I played for Ajax in Oegstgeestt. At Ajax the boys used to call me ‘Het kapsel’ when I wasyounger because of my big head of hair… Later they started calling ‘Douggie’ or ‘The Roug’ ‘cause apparently I look like Doug Bollinger. Havn’t really had the pleasure of getting a nickname at ACC yet though, but I guess that will happen now. In games I wear the shirt with number 4. I’m mostly a bowler, but I love batting as well and hitting a long ball.

Head Coach

Nickname:     - Most people just call me “Taku” but my high school friends call me “Saus”.    DOB: - 3 October 1988, born in Harare, Zimbabwe.     Work: - Head coach of Amsterdam Cricket Club , Founder and Head Coach of Amsterdam Cricket Academy.     Experience and philosophy: - I am a Level 3 coach with 12 years experience of coaching. My main objective at ACC is the growth and development of all the players at the club. The idea is to build a young core group of players that can evolve into a competitive side in a few years. A side that can be the cornerstone for the next 100 years and challenge for trophies. At a youth level the key for me to ensure that we are able to increase and maintain our numbers. The young players are our future.     Shirt Number: - 00   Started playing cricket: - started playing cricket with my older brother when I was 4 years old. He taught me how to play the game, we would spend hours in our drive way batting and bowling. We broke many windows around the house and at some stage had all our cricket and tennis balls confiscated by our parents. This didn’t stop us though as we would always find something to play with. The best “ball” that we discovered was an unripe lemon. We had many fruit trees at home and we definitely tried them all but in the end we settled on the lemon. The lemons were durable and had the most even bounce. On some occasions, even when we had real balls we would still go back and play with a lemon.      Started coaching cricket: I started my coaching journey in Cape Town, South Africa as a way to pay the bills as a student. The job. little did I know. would turn into my passion and my life. I realised in my early 20’s I would not make it to the highest levels as a player and so decided to concentrate on helping other players get to the highest level. This gives me immense joy, when I can help or be a part of assisting someone else’s journey.                  Cricket Ambition :- my current ambition with ACC is to one day challenge for the Topklasse title. My life long ambition is to coach a National team or be part or an international high performance environment.
