Quick U13 2 Cruise to Emphatic Victory

Quick U13 2 delivered a commanding performance on Sunday morning, bowling ACC U13 2 out for 127/6 and then chasing the target down in just 14.1 overs to win by 8 wickets. The result was convincing — but the real story of the match was written in the extras column.

ACC U13 2 won the toss and elected to bat first. What followed was a 25-over innings that tested the patience of both sides — not least because an extraordinary 77 extras (including 67 wides) inflated the ACC total considerably. Without those extras, ACC's batters contributed a combined 51 runs between them. Quick's bowlers, to their credit, kept picking up wickets even as the wides mounted.

ACC U13 2 Innings — 127/6 (25 overs)

The ACC innings was hard work. R. Basotia was the most patient of the batters, digging in for 63 balls to make 15 — a determined knock, even if the strike rate of 23.81 reflected just how difficult Quick's bowlers made scoring. A. Ranjan(10 off 33) and P. Erkens (8* off 19) also showed some fight, but no one was able to take the game away from Quick.

The fall of wickets tells a story of steady, controlled pressure from the Quick bowlers:

23/1 — S. Kasbe caught Goyal, bowled Woolmer (5)

29/2 — V. Basotia run out (S. Sharma) for a brisk 4 off 3

55/3 — R. Ram caught Boogers, bowled Shetty (7)

109/4 — R. Basotia run out (M. Goyal) for 15

115/5 — A. Ranjan stumped Rijnbeek, bowled Woolmer (10)

127/6 — A. Beuker bowled Woolmer for 1

S. Woolmer was the standout bowler, taking 3/17 from 3.5 overs including a stumping and two clean bowlings — a superb spell. N. Shetty chipped in with 1/9, while M. Goyal (0/7 from 3) and S. Sharma (0/6 from 3) were impressively economical. B. Kohli was the most expensive with 0/22, and S. Boogers (0/20) and C. Mol (0/13) gave away a combined 22 wides between them — contributing to the extras carnage.

The extras: 77 runs — 6 byes, 4 no-balls, and a jaw-dropping 67 wides. More than half of ACC's total came from free runs.

Quick U13 2 Chase — 129/2 (14.1 overs)

Quick's batters made short work of the chase. The target was overhauled in just over 14 overs, with S. Woolmer (6) the only early setback. S. Sharma then retired not out after a fluent 51 off 40 balls (8 fours, SR 127.5), while B. Kohli (11) and S. Rijnbeek (15* off 11, SR 136) saw the team home in style.

For ACC's bowlers, A. Beuker was the pick with 1/21, and R. Ram grabbed the other wicket (1/14). The other four bowlers — Kasbe, Erkens, V. Basotia, and R. Basotia — went wicketless as Quick cantered to victory.

Quick's extras in the chase: 50 (11 byes, 2 no-balls, 37 wides) — showing that wide discipline was a challenge for both sides on the day.

Result

Quick U13 2 won by 8 wickets 🏆

A dominant win for Quick, built on pressure bowling — particularly Woolmer's three-wicket haul — and a composed, controlled chase. For ACC, the lesson is clear: 67 wides in a single innings is a generous gift no bowling attack can afford to give. Rithvik Ram's wicket and Alexander Beuker's economical spell were genuine positives, while R. Basotia's gritty 15 showed character with the bat.

Player of the Match (unofficial): S. Woolmer (Quick U13 2) — 3/17 with the ball, opening the batting in the chase
