The Mancunian Cup is back — and this year, everything changes.

THIS YEAR'S FORMAT: THE FIFTY

Inspired by The Hundred, we're dropping overs and counting balls instead. 50 balls per innings, bowled in sets of 5. Six teams, two pools of three, semi-finals, and a final. Every match produces a winner — tied scores go to a Super 5 (5 balls per side).

Team composition: max 2 from ACC 1, max 2 from ACC 2, at least 1 U19 player, and at least 1 player from every ACC team must be represented across the squads.

RULES AT A GLANCE

- 9 players per team

- 50 balls per innings in sets of 5

- Bowling from the far end only, run-up max 10 metres

- 1 main bowler may bowl up to 15 balls (3 sets), all others max 10

- Captain decides: bowler sends down 5 or 10 consecutive balls

- Powerplay in the first 10 balls (max 2 fielders outside the ring)

- 1 strategic timeout per innings (60 sec, not during powerplay)

- Batsmen retire at 40 runs

- Wides: 3 runs in the first 40 balls (no re-bowl), 1 run + re-bowl in the last 10

- No-balls: 1 run + free hit

- Every new set must start within 30 seconds

POINTS

- Win: 3 points

- Loss: 0 points

- No draws — ties go to Super 5

- Bonus: +1 point for winning by 30+ runs
