U15 Semi-Final Rood & Wit 2 vs. ACC

[by Jeroen van der Kroft] Today, as we arrived at the sports ground, it was clear that Rood & Wit (R&W) was prepared to defend their territory, evidenced by a locked gate. However, with a bit of teamwork, we managed to clear the fence without any injuries, already feeling like we were leading 1—0 against R&W.

R&W were keen to redeem themselves after two losses in the regular competition and were particularly motivated to avenge R&W 1's defeat to ACC in last week's semi-final. After the customary pre-match discussions on KNCB rule interpretations and eligibility of players, R&W won the toss and elected to bowl first.

🏏 ACC Batting – 241/7 in 30 Overs

• Ayaansh Sehgal: 61 (54 balls, SR 112.96) – anchored the innings with confident strokeplay.

• Advay Subhedar: 24 (40 balls) – provided a solid start.

• Abhi Velidandla: 28 (38 balls) – contributed steadily in the middle overs.

• Rakesh Sripatnala: 42 (29 balls, 3 fours, 2 sixes) – a match-winning innings.

• Extras: 78 R&W’s bowlers struggled with discipline.

🎯 ACC Bowling – 167/8 in 26 overs

• The Velidandla brothers each claimed a wicket by clean bowling the opposition, but they also created opportunities for teammates with two catches taken by Advay Subhedar and Rakesh Sripatnala.

• Solid bowling performances by Ayaansh, Mohammed, Advay, Sean, Arrush, and Rakesh (left-handed?!?).

• Tommy van der Kroft behind the wicket supported the team with 2 run outs.

• Extras Conceded: 76 (14 no balls, 59 wides) – a few too many loose deliveries but the team held firm. Let’s sure up our accuracy for the semi-final.

The moment of the match came on the final ball, when R&W’s star batsman was dismissed by a delivery from Sawan Velidandla, followed by a spectacular diving catch from Advay Subhedar that sealed the victory, closing out the innings four overs early.

Mohammed was awarded the match ball for his outstanding commitment to the team and continuous development throughout the season. The squad can be incredibly proud of their semi-final victory, which extends their impressive winning streak.

Next week, the ACC U15 team will face Punjab Cricket Club in the final. Let’s rally behind them—come cheer the team on as they aim to cap off a great season with one last win!
