First game Mudi's 11 - First blood for ACC 3

Under the guidance of the new ACC3 captain, Mudi the team scored what was at the end a comfortable yet exciting victory in the penultimate over of the chase, against a strong opposition in Qui Vive-6

The match started as scheduled at 13:00 on Sunday the 6th of May. Having losing the toss opposition started to bat. Qui Vive openers started of well and scored at a good rate. Nagesh  drew first blood as he clean bowled the opening batsmen. But, the opposition kept the run-rate up with two batsmen scoring around the 40s. Abid, Nagesh and Sajjad all picked up 2 wickets each and the opposition was bowled-out for 220 runs in the 49th over.

Given that it was the first match of the season, the fielding of ACC3 was pretty good except for a few difficult missed catch opportunities. The bowling was not at its best, there were too many wides and extras to be a competitive team.

The batting performance was a revelation for the ACC3. Openers Immy and Shabaz gave a solid start to the innings with a partnership of 49 runs. Batsmen four (Arsalan, picture-1 and -2) and five (Abid, picture-2) were the stars of the day. ACC3 was 3 down for 80 when Arsalan and Aubid Malik started batting together. With 10 fours and 4 sixes, Arsalan scored a match winning century. He was superberbly supported by Abid who played a calm innings, rotated the strike and played a few great shots. Both these batsmen scored at above 6 an over to see the team through with 7 wickets and almost 2 overs to spare. It was a great sunny day for cricket and team ACC3 are now off to a great beginning of the season!
