On a sunny, windy, and chilly public holiday Monday morning, ACC1 won the toss and opted to bat first at an away game at VVV, Amsterdam, aiming for their third win of the season.
Solid contributions from Ben van der Merwe (57 off 40) and Santhosh Kumar Jami (52 off 63) helped Acc1 to post 140/4 in 24 overs half way thru the innings.
Despite regular wickets falling, the middle and lower order showed resilience.
A special mention goes to the unbeaten 47-run partnership for the last wicket between Areeb (37 off 51) and Devanshu (8 off 22), which ensured ACC1 batted through the full 50 overs, finishing at a competitive 216/9.
In reply, VVV had a shaky start, losing two wickets within the first two overs. Thanks to early breakthroughs by Iftikhari and Izhaan.
However, VVV recovered strongly through key partnerships: Clark and Rehman put on 123 runs, while Akram and Nazar added another 60.
Former ACC player Mohsin Ghaznavi kept his composure to steer VVV across the finish line, securing victory in the 42nd over.
ACC’s spinners bowled with discipline, picking up timely wickets and keeping the pressure on throughout. Devanshu led the attack with 3 wickets, supported by Raza (1) and Abhishek (2).
