Mayank Sharma hits first ever Century for ACC 4

On Sunday, 12th of June ACC 4 was on travel mode. We went to Qui Vive at Sportpark
De Eendracht where captain of Qui Vive 6 Chol Singh welcomed us with a great
sunny day, big smiles and coffee. Soon the ground was set up and a toss
happened. Chol won the toss and invited ACC 4 to bat first. Probably, he wanted
to use the fresh wicket to surprise ACC with the more than usual bounce of the
track. On the other hand, ACC always wanted to bat on the hot day to put runs
on the board and defend it with their bowling heavy unit.

However,Chol was not wrong; he knew his home conditions and his bowler's strength.
Sagar was the pick of the bowlers from Qui Vive and got ACC most stylish
batsman and opener Vijay out for a duck in the second over. Post that,
considering the tight bowling Ankush and Mayank started cautiously. Once their
eyes were set in, runs started flowing. Rest of the players and spectators saw
one of the best partnerships ever for ACC 4 so far. To be precise it was a 199
run partnership where we witnessed Mayank's flare and Ankush solidness.

At one end, you have Ankush who knows which bowler to target and how to build his
innings and on the other end you have Mayank who can hit the best of the balls
at all sides of the wicket. Both batters started putting bad balls to the
boundaries and were also taking quick singles. This approach was difficult to
tackle by the opposition captain and he has no clue how to handle the ACC 4
innings progress. After the initial good spell from Sagar, Mayank opened up and
started playing his shots. Beautiful drives, punches , flicks and those
towering sixes. Mayank was absolutely in beast mode and hit 9 sixes and 10
fours in the innings. After his 100, he scored 29 runs in just 7 balls
before getting caught by Qui Vive captain Chol who in the end took three
amazing catches in the match.

Mayank’s Century is the first Century for ACC 4 and it’s a big inspiration to all the
batters in our team to have a Centurion in our ranks. Now the shackles are
broken and we expect this will happen more often from our team. It was an
absolute Mayank Majestic show this Sunday and everyone loved his innings.
Even the opposition was in awe of the shots Mayank played and almost
everyone congratulated him when he got out.

Mayank got out on 31st over when score was 206 and post that ACC 4 scored another 81 runs in 9 overs to take the score to 287 in 40 overs. Special
mention to Ankush who scored an amazing innings of 75 runs and stayed till 35
overs. So far, Ankush has been our best batsman in the league and his
consistency is superb. He is a dependable performer and has been raising his
hand in every game with his solid technique and amazing concentration.

Looking at the target, Qui Vive 6 made some changes in their batting order and started
with Chol and Sagar. Qui Vive lost their first wicket in 3rd over at 9 runs. Post that Sagar and Amitava started playing cautiously and took the
score to 103. Both of them were playing at a good scoring rate and were playing
their shots to keep Qui Vive in the hunt but the partnership was broken by
Vinodh who was teasing the batsman with his leg spin. Qui Vive also had a good
partnership for 3rd wicket until Ankush and Ravi were introduced in the attack. At once, Qui Vive were 184 for 4 and were going at a good pace for
the chase but ACC spinners halted oppositions's progress and demolished any chase plans they had whatsoever. Qui Vive collapsed from
184 for 4 to 205 all out in no time. Spinners took 9 wickets for ACC 4 and in which Ankush and Ravi shared 4 wickets among themselves.

Ankush had an amazing day on the field, scoring 75 runs and taking 4 wickets. Special
mention to the Qui Vive 6 team for their hospitality. Match was played in an
absolutely great Cricket spirit and we would like to thank the opposition for
their amazing hospitality. We would like to host Qui Vive 6 with all our generosity
when they will visit us on 14th August.
