[door De Zamiaan] (English follows) Zaterdag mocht de Zami op ons mooie tweede veld aantreden. Het eerste speelde de uitwedstrijd tegen Dosti op het 1e veld omdat Dosti het hele jaar zonder veld zit. Op Drieburg wordt het gehele drainage systeem vervangen en hopelijk kan Dosti daar volgend seizoen gewoon weer haar wedstrijden spelen.
Het was vochtig en warm en dus klamme handen en veel water pauzes om het enigszins vol te kunnen houden. Gelukkig werd de toss weer gewonnen en mochten de Zami eerst gaan batten. Vanaf de eerste bal was Bloemendaal erg vrijgevig met extra runs, de wides vakjes in de score boeken raakte al weer snel gevuld.
Fraaz (20) en Nagesh (47) hadden een prima partnership voor het tweede wicket van 90 runs en legde een solide basis. Ondertussen was de geblesseerde Rahul langs de lijn continue bezig om iedereen bij de les te houden en van adviezen te voorzien. Fantastisch wat een team spirit. Niet kunnen spelen maar wel de hele pot als 12e man aanwezig!!
Na de solide opening waren er nog diverse bijdragen waaronder die van de invaller op het laatste moment, Baljot maakte er 25 maar werd helaas m.b.v. Wim onnodig uitgerund. De Zami waren uiteindelijk in de 34e over all out met 179 runs. Vermelden waard is dat Bloemendaal geen enkel vang liet vallen.
Een goed totaal maar zou het genoeg zijn tegen Bloemendaal dat vorige week nog 200 runs had gemaakt tegen Hilversum.
Umer koos er voor om met één slow bowler te starten. Wim en Baljot kregen de taak de eerste overs de controle over de wedstrijd te pakken. En dat deden ze behoorlijk goed en dus besloot Umer beide bowlers direct hun maximaal aantal over te laten bowlen (en dat bij deze warmte..). Het resultaat mocht er zijn, na 14 over 42-3. Onder andere door een prachtige direct hit van Rahul en een goede vang van Shashank. De lat was direct hoog gelegd voor Bloemendaal in de resterende 21 overs 138 runs.
Na dit begin deden de overige bowlers precies wat nodig was, zuinig bowlen, weinig extra's, druk op de tegenstander en dus vallen de wiickets. Alle vangen werden gepakt en dat was op het 1e veld (waar Chris een prachtige 100 maakte) wel anders vernamen wij. Rahul pakte er één in volle sprint en daarnaast had Shashank ook nog een mooie direct hit.
Na 29 overs zat Bloemendaal voor 117 runs weer aan de kant en waren de wickets verdeeld tussen de bowlers.
Tijd voor een welverdiend drankje waarbij ook de baco weer ruim aanwezig was. Er werd nog lang nagepraat en al begonnen met de mentale voorbereiding op de volgende pot tegen VVV. Grote vraag is welk team door VVV naar het Loopveld gestuurd zou worden, het schijnt dat een aantal welbekende spelers van VVV zich hebben aangemeld voor deze pot. We zullen het zien.

From the first ball Bloemendaal was very generous with extra runs, the wides boxes in the score books were soon filled again. Fraaz (20) and Nagesh (47) had a great partnership for the second wicket of 90 runs and laid a solid foundation .
In the meantime, the injured Rahul was constantly busy keeping everyone on track and providing advice. Fantastic what a team spirit. Not able to play but the whole pot as 12th man present !!

After this start, the other bowlers did exactly what was needed, thrifty bowling, little extra, pressure on the opponent and so the wiickets fall. All catches were taken and that was on the 1st field (where Chris made a beautiful 100) or we heard otherwise. Rahul took one in full sprint and Shashank also had a nice direct hit.
After 29 overs, Bloemendaal was back in the clubhoise for 117 runs and the wickets were divided between the bowlers.
Time for a well-deserved drink with the baco again in abundance. We talked for a long time and already started with the mental preparation for the next game against VVV. The big question is which team would be sent to the Loopveld by VVV, it seems that a number of well-known players from VVV have signed up for this game. We shall see.
